Setup:

2. Shuffle the Code Cards and deal one face-down to each player. This card represents your secret identity and determines your starting location on the game board.
3. Place the Game Summary Cards (if using) within easy reach of all players.
4. Give each player $40 Spy Dollars.

Gameplay:

1. Players take turns clockwise.
2. On your turn, you can choose to take one of the following actions:
   • Move: Move your Player Token to an adjacent space on the board.
   • Buy an Item: If you’re on a city space, you can pay the cost to purchase the item associated with that city. Check your Objective Card to see if you need that item for your mission.
   • Attempt to Guess: If you believe you’ve collected all the items needed for your mission, you can attempt to guess another player’s identity. If you guess correctly, you win the game. If you guess incorrectly, you’re out of the game, but the player you guessed against continues playing.
3. After taking an action, you must pay $1 Spy Dollar as a “cover charge” if you’re not currently on a Spy Elimination space. If you don’t have the money to pay, you’re eliminated from the game.
4. If you land on a Spy Elimination space, you must reveal your identity by showing your Code Card to all players. If you’ve completed your mission, reveal your Objective Card and win the game. If not, you’re eliminated.
5. When you buy an item, you must pay for it in full. The cost is determined by the value of the item, as indicated on the city space.
6. If you land on an Embassy space, you have the option to pay $2 Spy Dollars to exchange your Code Card with another player. Both players must agree to the exchange.
7. The game continues until a player successfully completes their mission and wins, or until there’s only one player remaining (all other players have been eliminated).

Winning:

• To win Spy Alley, you must be the first player to complete your mission, collect all the necessary items, and successfully guess another player’s identity (if you choose to guess).

Game Summary Cards: Game Summary Cards are optional, but they provide a helpful reference for players, especially if it’s their first time playing Spy Alley. They summarize the actions you can take on your turn, the costs associated with each action, and the values of items.
